Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) was  a Scottish architect born in Glasgow. He was a designer, water colourist and artist. His work, alongside that of his wife Margaret MacDonald was influential on European design movements such as  Art Nouveau and Secessionism and praised by great modernists.

Around the base there are various artefacts and an inscription … ‘Art is the flower. Life is the green leaf’
